Council 2008

WOW!
The girls and I had a great time at Council 2008. We started the weekend off with a kick-in concert by By the Tree. Of course the girls had to get pictures taken with the band! and they even had a chance to roadies!

This year we went to the Good Sammaritan Center to help out. We were assigned the Red Group and were in charge of mulching! When I say mulching I mean MULCHING! I have never seen so much mulch, and it was our job to make sure the playground was covered! 5 hours later, we had mulched till we couldn't mulch anymore! And I have to give it to the girls: they worked HARD! Everyone did... what a wonderful experience to see 90+ youth working to make a wonderful place even more wonderful!

Pancake Supper 2008

Shrove Tuesday had our undercroft packed with people ready to eat tons of all-you-can- eat pancake! Our youth did a wonderful job serving pancakes, and the parents did a superb job cooking them. Every year we learned a few lessons on what can make year even better and by the looks of how well this year went, next year should be just as WONDERFUL!

A special thanks to Michelle Garza who cooked all the bacon and sausge at her house, and Thanks to Mark Garza (her husband) for living with the smell a few days after! Thanks also to everyone who helped cook, serve, clean up and eat pancakes.
